Original acrylic on canvasboard painting. 5 x 7 inches. Comes framed in a real oak contemporary frame as shown. The base colors of the painting are accumulated on the canvas over time, wiping excess paint off my brushes while working on my larger realist landscape works, building up color and texture until I’m satisfied. Then I carve out the silhouette shape of the animal with layers of lighter paint, with additional texture added through sanding and transparent washes.
