realism

While many of the works on this page feature varying levels of simplification, stylization, and abstraction, they still fall within the general umbrella of realism. These paintings are intended to represent or embody some aspect of the real world. Some of them are more literal, representing a specific place or scene that I saw or captured with my camera. Others are more or less invented landscapes, not based on any specific or “real” place, but they still generally follow principles of real physical phenomena of light or color or atmosphere found in nature.
